At the age of fifteen, Wou-Ki began his training at the National Academy of Fine Arts (now China Academy of Art) located in Hangzhou. Shortly after, Wou-Ki moved to Paris and immersed himself in both Chinese and European painting. Wou-Ki was heavily influenced by Klee as well as Matisse, Cezanne and Pollack. Wou-Ki’s art demonstrates Asian techniques combined with international art movements of the time period. The exhibit includes 60 paintings, drawings, and prints. Afterwards, the group is invited to enjoy an à la carte lunch in the Garden Court Café. Please meet the group promptly at the Asia Society at 11:30am. The Asia Society is located at 725 Park Avenue at 70th Street.
