Educating Girls in an Age of Rising Stress & Anxiety

Dr. Tara Christie Kinsey will discuss the trends that high-achieving girls face today and will provide solutions on how to empower girls to become their primary agents for success while pursuing it on healthy terms. After addressing some of the toxic messages girls and young women receive today, Dr. Kinsey will share specific practices that parents, teachers, managers, and mentors can employ to inspire girls to develop into healthy, grounded, confident, connected, and intrinsically motivated young women.
Dr. Kinsey is the eighth head of school at The Hewitt School, an independent K-12 girls’ school founded in 1920 and located on the Upper East Side of New York City. She is a recipient of Princeton’s Nannerl O. Keohane Award, given to the member of the Princeton University community who has done the most to mentor women students for leadership. Previously, she has taught at Emory University, Oxford University, Georgetown University, and Princeton University. Dr. Kinsey received her B.A. in English from Princeton and her Ph.D. from Emory University.
